Liverpool have tipped their hats to local rivals Everton as they prepare to host their last men's match at Goodison Park this Sunday before switching venues next season.
The Toffees are set for a poignant clash with bottom-of-the-table Southampton in an early kick-off, marking the end of an era for the club and its fans who are bracing for a fresh start at Bramley-Moore Dock.
On Friday, it emerged that the Reds will make their way to the newly named Hill Dickinson Stadium for the upcoming Merseyside derby, following the announcement of a naming rights deal by Everton.
In anticipation of a historic day at Goodison, Liverpool took to social media with a touching tribute, sharing a snap of Reds supporters extending gratitude to their Everton peers after the Hillsborough tragedy in 1989.
The monochrome photo features a banner from Liverpool fans directed at their neighbours, stating: "The Kop thanks you all. We never walked alone," reports the Liverpool Echo.

Liverpool's last trip to Goodison Park for a men's game concluded with a 2-2 stalemate in February, following a reschedule from early December due to the havoc wreaked by Storm Darragh across Merseyside.
The newly crowned Premier League champions are back in action on Monday as they face off against Brighton and Hove Albion.
