Vladimir Coufal has posted his own farewell message on the eve of West Ham United's final home game of the 2024/25 season.
The hugely-popular Czech defender leaves the club at the end of the current campaign after five successful years as a Hammer.
And unsurprisingly, Coufal had to fight in order to hold back tears as he read his goodbye note to the fans.
"It is a very sad moment for me because I am leaving something that I love so much," he began. "I was afraid of this day since I started to feel that it is coming.
"I knew this time would come but I could not even imagine how emotional it would be for me and my family. Now it is here and my time at the club has come to the end. It is so difficult to find the right words and express how happy I am that I could be part of this beautiful club.
"I came here five years ago and didn’t know what to expect – a new country, new league, new life. I can say with all honesty in my heart that I enjoyed every minute of being at West Ham. Wearing the claret and blue shirt was always the biggest honour for me.
I tried to represent these colours off the pitch in the best possible way and always left my best I could on the pitch," he continued. "We brought the European trophy back to east London after many years, which was absolutely incredible.
"I am taking a lot of unforgettable memories with me and will never forget how it is to be part of West Ham. I will always be a fan of this club and will come back to cheer for these colours.
"Now it is time for a new chapter. It is time to say goodbye. Tomorrow I will play at London Stadium for the last time. I will be forever blowing bubbles till I fade and die. Thank you for everything."
