Wayne Rooney wants Manchester United to try and scupper Newcastle United’s attempts to land a big-name player this summer.
Newcastle United could finally be set to bring an end to their problems in the transfer market at the end of the season.
Indeed, Newcastle insiders are confident they can buy players this summer, having been forced into a situation where they couldn’t sign new talent due to the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
Now, however, Newcastle want to sign at least three players this summer. One of those is thought to be Crystal Palace and England defender Marc Guehi.
Newcastle remain interested in signing Guehi, albeit landing him won’t be easy. Real Madrid are also keen on Guehi, but Rooney has called on the Old Trafford giants to make a move.

Wayne Rooney wants Manchester United to sign Marc Guehi
Rooney was asked by Amazon Prime Video for the three players he wants the Red Devils to sign this summer.
The former England captain said the Manchester club should re-sign David De Gea from Fiorentina while trying to land Victor Osimhen from Napoli once his loan at Galatasaray ends.
Rooney also wants his former club to sign Guehi, although he accepted it would be difficult.

“It would be difficult but I’d try and sign Guehi from Crystal Palace as a centre-back,” he said.
“I think he would have a really good impact on the club.”
Manchester United want to sign three Newcastle United transfer targets
Ruben Amorim’s side are seemingly keen on quite a few Toon targets this summer.
Man United want to sign Liam Delap, Antoine Semenyo and Matheus Cunha, all of whom have been linked with a move to St James’ Park.
Frankly, it’s hard to see why anyone would want to join them over Newcastle on a purely footballing basis.
While Amorim’s side could reach the Champions League by winning the Europa League final next week, surely few would doubt that Newcastle is the more attractive move right now.
In fact, Rooney thinks Man United should be worried about teams like Newcastle, who now look to be a much better club in almost every aspect.
Guehi will likely have his pick of clubs. It would therefore be a surprise to see him move to Old Trafford.
