Everton marked their Goodison Park farewell with a 2-0 victory at home to Southampton.
Goodison Park hosted the final Premier League game ever on Sunday afternoon (18 May), with Everton sealing all three points against relegated Southampton.
As expected, the atmosphere on Merseyside was nothing short of electric, with the Toffees starting the game with plenty of intent and identity going forward.
Aaron Ramsdale was called into action inside five minutes to deny Beto, with the opening strike arriving immediately after courtesy of Iliman Ndiaye.
David Moyes’ side proceeded to get the ball in the Southampton net on two more occasions in the first half, but both goals from Beto were ruled out for offside.

Ndiaye added a second just moments before the half-time whistle, with the second half far more laboured as the Toffees secured a 2-0 victory.

Everton can rely on Ndiaye after Southampton display
Ndiaye was simply outstanding for Everton against the Saints, and he showcased the true quality he has throughout his time on the pitch. Quite literally, he will go down in the history books at Everton for scoring in their final Premier League encounter at Goodison Park.
The Senagalese international has been integral under Moyes, but has at times struggled to turn that importance into contributions.

Ndiaye’s stats for Everton in the Premier League this season.
His display against Southampton will provide him with a huge confidence boost, and if Moyes can keep him playing like this, they have a superstar to utilise in the new campaign.
Of course, the Toffees still need several attacking reinforcements, but it is fair to say that Ndiaye’s spot in their starting 11 is all but cemented.
