Everton defeated Southampton 2-0 in the final ever game at Goodison Park.
David Moyes’ side had the pressure on them to give Goodison Park its rightful send-off, and Iliman Ndiaye took the responsibility within the opening 10 minutes with a left-footed strike before doubling the advantage just before half-time.
Seamus Coleman received a standing ovation from Everton fans when he left the field of play in the first half.
Ashley Young, who replaced him, got a lot of love, too, as he made his final home appearance for the club.
Everton supporters also chanted the name of a former player in the 36th minute, which is very telling.

Everton fans sing Richarlison chant
There was a special atmosphere at Goodison Park this afternoon, with plenty of tears and hugs shared in the stands.
Supporters produced an incredible noise as the players walked out to Z cars for the final time, and they went through the catalogue of chants during the match.
In the 36th minute, Goodison belted out Richarlison’s song, which caught a few off guard considering he’s still plying his trade at Tottenham Hotspur.

“He’s Brazilian, he only cost 50 million, and we think he’s f—— brilliant, Richarlison,” fans chanted.
It amplifies just how much fans still adore the Brazilian and it’ll give Moyes plenty to think about ahead of the summer transfer window.
Everton are interested in bringing Richarlison back and reportedly lead Leeds United in talks to sign him.
David Moyes did appear to rule out Richarlison signing
Speaking ahead of the Fulham game last week, Moyes did appear to rule out re-signing Richarlison this summer when asked about Everton’s interest.
“There is zero truth in that in my side,” Moyes simply said.
Perhaps the Scotsman was just being coy and didn’t want to give anything away ahead of any forthcoming talks.
Anyhow, the chants against Southampton certainly proved that Richarlison would be welcome back with open arms.
So Moyes already has a winning signing in that sense.
