Between Wednesday 21 May and Friday 23 May Interim Head Coach Nick Cushing and a selection of City players will take part in the inaugural competition between some of Europe’s top sides.

Aoba Fujino was City’s third signing in the 2024 summer transfer window - joining the Club from Tokyo Verdy Beleza.

The 21-year old has experienced an enjoyable first season with the Cityzens - recording 17 appearances and scored one goal in the WSL.

Although Fujino hasn’t participated in seven-a-side football, she says she can’t wait for the tournament to begin.

“I haven’t had much experiences playing seven aside and I’m not really sure what kind of footballs we are playing, but it’s really exciting. I’m looking forward to it,” said the forward.

“As long as we are participating in the tournament, I’d love to contribute to the wins of the team.”

After being out with an injury, the Japanese international returned to the pitch against Manchester United and explained how it felt to be back playing for City.

“I was really looking forward to playing a game with the team on the pitch and it was a very important match,” Fujino explained.

“I want to contribute more to the team, but it was really good for myself to be back with the team and it was a good result for myself.”

She also explained the emotions she has felt during her first season in Manchester.

“I enjoyed the first season very much and the first season playing for Manchester City,” she continued.

“It was also my first time being able to challenge overseas teams. I was a bit anxious at the beginning, but in the end, it was a good result and my teammates and the staff have been very, very kind and that empowered me a lot.

“The fans have been very, very welcoming so in the end I had a very good experience playing for this team, so I’m very happy to come to this decision.”
