Everton’s farewell to Goodison Park was marred by an injury to Seamus Coleman.
The 36-year-old made just his fifth Premier League appearance of an injury-hit campaign as he was named in David Moyes‘ starting line-up.
The Blues’ captain is set to stick around on Merseyside as they enter the new era at the Hill Dickinson Stadium but his fitness issues are likely to continue.

Tarkowski shares Coleman update at half-time
The Ireland international was forced off and replaced by Ashley Young just 18 minutes into the emotional Goodison farewell.
Tarkowski was on media duties with TNT Sports due to a hamstring injury that has ended his season and he gave an update on the veteran’s latest problem.

Speaking live on TNT Sports (18 May, 13:03pm), he said: “His overriding emotion will be frustration.
“He has had a frustrating year with injuries, he has worked so hard so many times to get himself back out on the pitch.
“Once again, he seems to take a little bit of a knock, not too sure what it is right now, he will be very frustrated with himself.”

Coleman‘s role in Everton new era is uncertain
It is an exciting new era on the blue half on Merseyside but how much of a part that Coleman will play in that, remains to be seen amid his constant struggles to stay fit lately.
The skipper has had his fair share of injury problems this campaign and is no longer a reliable option for Moyes, despite his 426 appearances for the since his move from Sligo Rovers in 2009.

Jake O’Brien has emerged as the starter at right-back, and although his future remains up in the air as Alan Nixon claimed the Blues could accept a big offer for him, there is no guarantee that his compatriot could stay fit if he is needed.
Moyes is set to be backed in the market by the Friedkin Group and he may decide that he needs a new, more conventional right-back, rather than a centre-back that has been converted into the position.
That would push Coleman further down the pecking order, and he may be forced to accept a coaching role or at the very least a hybrid role if he wants to continue with the Toffees.
He has already started on his coaching qualifications and would fit into that role like a glove as his experience and quality could be passed down to the young, talented squad that the L4 outfit possesses.
