Rangers' hopes of appointing Davide Ancelotti as their new manager have been given a boost with the Italian still in the running for the Ibrox job, according to The Rangers Review's Chris Jack.
Davide Ancelotti has yet to start his managerial career, having been a member of Carlo Ancelotti's backroom staff at Bayern Munich, Napoli, Everton and Real Madrid. He has emerged as one of the Gers' top candidates to become Philippe Clement's permanent replacement.
The 35-year-old will continue as Ancelotti Sr.'s assistant in his new role as Brazil's national team boss for their next two games against Ecuador and Paraguay next month. There were suggestions in Brazil that he'd decided against taking over the Scottish Premiership giants, but Clark claims that isn't the case.

Ancelotti snr is leaving Madrid next month, and his son will follow him out of the Santiago Bernabeu after spending four years back in the Spanish capital. Their final games with Los Blancos are against Sevilla (May 18) and Real Sociedad (May 25) before turning to Brazil's upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
A decision over Ancelotti Jr. 's future is set to be made within a fortnight, and he wants to "start his managerial career in his own right." He could yet stay with his father and serve as a member of Brazil's coaching team "if the right offer does not land on the table this summer."
Clark gave an update on the situation and the prospect of Ancelotti Jr. taking over at Ibrox. He wrote:
"Davide Ancelotti remains committed to starting his managerial career next season and is in the running to join Rangers. He will join Carlo in charge of Brazil next month but he is not expected to remain there until the 2026 World Cup."

Rangers sacked Clement in February, and Barry Ferguson has since been in charge temporarily. The Scot oversaw his final game with the Gers in a 2-2 draw with Hibernian on Saturday (May 17).
Ancelotti Jr. could be the first appointment made by the club's prospective US owners, who have recently been in attendance for several games. He's not the only option, though, as a Steven Gerrard return is also under consideration, as per Fabrizio Romano.
