Leon Osman highlighted the one flaw in Iliman Ndiaye’s game as Everton secured a comfortable victory at home to Southampton.
Everton said goodbye to Goodison Park in style on Sunday afternoon, with a 2-0 win against relegated Southampton.
The atmosphere on Merseyside was electric, and that energy translated onto the pitch with David Moyes’ side barely having to get out of first gear to see off the Saints.
Ndiaye opened the scoring for Everton inside seven minutes, but Osman was quick to point out the one thing that he has struggled with this season.

Ndiaye accused of lacking consistency at Everton
Ndiaye has provided some real moments of quality ever since he arrived in Merseyside, and took his total goal tally for the season up to nine with his two goals against the Saints.

The Senegalese international cut inside from the right six minutes into the game, before finishing superbly into the far corner beyond Aaron Ramsdale.
Everton hero Osman was impressed by the goal and the build-up to it, but was quick to highlight the one concern he has over the forward.

Commentating via the world feed (18 May, 12:07pm), he said: “It’s a wonderful goal. Such good play, he’s so capable of this kind of skill and movement.
“These Evertonians will tell you, though, he hasn’t done it enough throughout the season, considering how he’s able to manipulate the ball, move the ball.”
Ndiaye scored his second of the game just seconds before the half-time whistle, with a composed piece of play to get beyond Ramsdale.

David Moyes can get the best out of Ndiaye
Ndiaye has certainly provided more good moments than bad this season, but the overdependence on him may be looked at as the main reason behind their concern.
The Toffees, for the most part, have lacked quality going forward, and the injection of more quality in the final third could lift the pressure off his shoulders, while also getting more out of him.
David Moyes will be fully aware of the quality he possesses, and it will be up to him to get the best out of him ahead of the new campaign, and if that can be achieved, Everton will have a very special player on their hands.
