Wolves could be tempted to sanction a loan exit for one academy player who is turning heads.
Vitor Pereira is invested in Wolves’ academy, as the manager gives upcoming talent at Compton Park the chance to partake in first-team training.
The boss is already showing that he’s prepared to reward hard work, no matter the age, handing Mateus Mane his Premier League debut at the age of 17.
Mane isn’t the only academy star turning heads this season, as Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has his eyes firmly fixed on one of Wolves’ jewels.

Ryan Giggs wants to sign Wolves goalkeeper Lewys Benjamin at Salford City
Taking to his Patreon column, journalist Alan Nixon revealed that at Salford City, Giggs is ‘a fan’ of Wolves academy goalkeeper Lewys Benjamin.
Benjamin, who signed a senior contract with the Old Gold in 2023, has been a firm part of the U23 squad in the Premier League 2, playing above his age group.
At only 18, the shot-stopper is taking the right steps towards senior action, with an opportunity now presenting itself to the teenager.
Nixon reported that Salford City want to sign Benjamin on loan for the 2025/26 season in League Two.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
The journalist understands that after making the move from Cardiff City’s academy to Wolves in 2023, Benjamin is ‘ready’ to play regular senior football, opening the door to a possible loan spell with Salford.
It’s been an impressive ride so far for the Welshman at Wolves, as Head of Academy Goalkeeping, Scott Bevan, spoke highly of the scholar when he signed his professional contract.
“In terms of his actual goalkeeping, he’s very reliable with his techniques and when protecting the goal,” Bevan told Wolves’ official website.
“His cross-taking is decent – he’s very mobile and explosive as well. There’s still a long way to go, but we’re really happy with how he’s settled into the group.”
Promising times ahead for Lewys Benjamin
For now, Benjamin will be eager to have a summer break as positive as his time with the Wolves squad during pre-season in 2024.
Gary O’Neil named the goalkeeper as part of the team that took part in warm-weather training in Spain, giving the Welshman the chance to train with the senior players.
Benjamin is already highly regarded at Wolves, but he’s also making moves internationally, as the 18-year-old was recently called up for Wales’ training camp ahead of the World Cup qualifiers.
It’s set to be an exciting summer and season ahead for Benjamin, who could be granted the opportunity to play regularly in League Two and experience the magic of a senior international camp.
