Despite recent speculation, [Newcastle United](https://cominghomenewcastle.sbnation.com) have no plans to sell Lewis Miley. The 19-year-old midfielder remains firmly in the club’s long-term vision, according to [The Athletic’s Chris Waugh](https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6349238/2025/05/13/inside-newcastle-united-transfers-miley-stadium/).
Miley has had a limited role this season due to injury setbacks and the presence of Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali, and Joelinton, but multiple senior figures at Newcastle continue to view him as a foundational piece for the future.
Waugh reports that both publicly and privately, club leadership has made it clear Miley is not for sale under any circumstance.
“Newcastle have no intention of selling Miley,” Waugh wrote. “Several senior figures have reiterated, publicly and privately, that the 19-year-old is crucial for the long-term future. They want to eventually build the team around Miley.”
Though he has drawn interest from other clubs due to his standout talent, Newcastle remain committed to retaining the academy product and developing him further within their system.
Waugh acknowledged that speculation may persist, given Miley’s reputation, but emphasized that the club is not “countenancing losing their academy graduate.”
While other first-team midfielders such as Sean Longstaff, Joe Willock, and Harvey Barnes could face uncertain futures depending on offers and summer movement, Miley is not considered part of any potential outgoing plans.
