Everton could be set for a busy summer after playing their final game at Goodison Park on Sunday.

The Toffees played host to Southampton on 18 May in their final Premier League game at the Grand Old Lady and secured a 2-0 win.

An Iliman Ndiaye brace secured a memorable win to allow the move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium to be on a positive note, ready for the new campaign.

As positive as the atmosphere was around Goodison, there was one moment that caught the eye and pointed towards an exit being near.

With the celebrations around the L4 stadium now over, it does feel as if the future is bright and lies ahead for the Evertonians this summer.

There is so much to be excited about with David Moyes at the helm, with a number of additions set to improve his squad, ready for the new campaign.

With those additions, outgoing transfers are also likely, as Ashley Young already looks set to leave at the end of his contract.

It now looks as if another first-team ace in Abdoulaye Doucoure could be set to follow the versatile defender out the door.

This comes as Nicky Summerbee spotted the 32-year-old seemingly waving goodbye to the Goodison faithful as he was substituted on 65 minutes.

Speaking on beIN Sports (18 May), the ex-Manchester City midfielder said: “This is interesting. It looks like it’s the end for him because he’s waving. It’s a shame because he’s been a good servant.”

Doucoure exit looks likely at Everton

The actions of the Mali international won’t necessarily come as a surprise to the home supporters, as a move away has looked likely this campaign.

With that being said, his celebration at Nottingham Forest did point towards a new deal being on the table from the Goodison hierarchy.

This now looks unlikely with Doucoure himself pointing towards a departure with his actions as he left the pitch against Southampton.

Now, fans will await news of additional contract exits with Idrissa Gueye, another midfield option who could be on his way out this summer.
