Wrexham 'add' ex-Man Utd star and son of Premier League legend to list of transfer targets as summer overhaul continues

Wrexham have reportedly added two former Manchester United players to their wanted list ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Red Dragons, backed by Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, are on a spectacular journey up the English football pyramid.

Last month, Wrexham sealed promotion to the second tier of English football after beating Charlton Athletic 3-0.

It was a historic moment as they successfully secured three promotions in a row.

Looking ahead, the club will now be working around the clock to prepare for life in the Championship.

Wrexham have already been linked with a host of different players, including stars playing in the Premier League.

However, as reported by ESPN, the club will operate a 'no superstars and no egos' policy when they target new signings for their Premier League push next season.

Recently, it has been claimed that two former United players could be targeted by Wrexham.

As reported by The Wrexham Insider, the Red Dragons have genuine interest in ex-United youngster Tom Lawrence, who currently plays for Scottish Premier League side Rangers.

Lawrence, 31, made one senior appearance for United and will be a free agent next month with his Rangers contract coming to an end.

In addition, Wrexham are also said to be interested in Charlie Savage, son of Wales and Premier League legend Robbie Savage.

The report stated: "The Welsh outfit have a genuine interest in bringing both Charlie Savage and Tom Lawrence to the club."

"They are both players the club like a lot and have close ties to the town, with Lawrence born in Wrexham and Savage already a Wales international."

Wrexham are set to travel to Australia for a pre-season tour with fixtures against the likes of Melbourne Victory, Sydney FC and Wellington Phoenix lined up.
