The Golden State Warriors were bounced out of the second round of the playoffs much earlier than anyone in the organization would have hoped. Much of this was due to a hamstring injury suffered by star guard Stephen Curry, which pretty much sealed the Warriors' fate.

However, as the team enters the offseason now, they have a lot of questions to answer. One of those is around forward Jonathan Kuminga, and his future with the team.
If the Warriors aren't willing to give Kuminga a contract extension, he could be moved this summer. NBA writer Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report looked at some landing spots for Kuminga and, in doing so, put together a deal for the Warriors to send him to the Phoenix Suns.
In return, Golden State would be getting back an old friend, Kevin Durant. Here is how the trade would look:
Suns receive: Jonathan Kuminga (via sign-and-trade), Buddy Hield, Moses Moody, Brandin Podziemski and a 2027 first-round pick
Warriors receive: Kevin Durant
Adding Durant to the mix would certainly help elevate the Warriors in terms of title contenders. The team would have a big-four of Curry, Durant, Draymond Green, and Jimmy Butler.
While the core group would be older, it also could be extremely lethal. This may be the best lineup in the NBA, and Golden State would cause all sorts of headaches for opposing teams to deal with.
The Warriors were interested in re-acquiring Durant at the trade deadline this year, so they could circle back toward a deal. There have been many rumblings about Durant's future with the Suns, and many expect the former MVP to leave the team this summer.

It remains to be seen how active the Warriors will be this summer, especially in terms of adding another star player. Golden State may want to allow the group they have to come together more, building off the success that they saw this season.
But nonetheless, Durant could be on the move, and if he is, expect the Warriors to at least be mentioned in potential deals.
