During Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals between the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves, a Timberwolves fan was ejected in the fourth quarter for violating the NBA fan code of conduct in an incident involving Warriors forward Draymond Green.
A second Minnesota fan, who made racially charged comments toward Green, left Game 2 on his own.
On the latest episode of his podcast with former NBA guard Baron Davis, Green spoke about some Timberwolves fans saying racist things toward him.
"But as far as the fans go, listen, I don’t give it too much thought," Green said. "I deal with fans a lot. That’s just the nature of being who I am. I don’t get off into it. There were some racist things said in Minnesota. I also don’t like giving these nobodies moments to feel like they’re somebody, you know what I’m saying?
"So yeah, there were some racist things said. It ain’t the first time. You get in these environments and racist things are said. And I’ma tell you what it is: fans are privileged. They are privileged. And when I say that, I mean they can pretty much say whatever they want, no boundaries. And if we say something back, we get in trouble. We lose money. We get fined. All the punishment comes to us."

A four-time champion, Green has a history of getting into it with non-Warriors fans. He was booed in Minnesota and is usually booed in road games.
The Timberwolves beat the Warriors in the second round in five games. Golden State star Steph Curry suffered a Grade 1 left hamstring strain in Game 1 and missed the rest of the series.
Green averaged 9.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists in the 2025 playoffs in 12 games against the Houston Rockets and Timberwolves.
The Warriors beat the Rockets in the first round in seven games.
