Premier League side Everton are eyeing a move for Bristol City midfielder Jason Knight.
That’s according to a report from TEAMtalk, who revealed that the Toffees are considering a move in the coming weeks following their scouting of the 24-year-old.

Knight was key to the Robins’ push for a play-off spot this past season, starting every single second-tier game and captaining the side throughout, notching three goals and six assists in the process.

Speaking to Football League World, we asked our Bristol City fan pundit, Tom Rawle, what he makes of the potential move.
Rawle said: “I think any move for Jason Knight to the Premier League is ultimately going to be a good move, whether or not that's Everton or any other team.
“Only 24 and still tied down for two years. It's probably not this window that I'd worry about him going, it'll probably be more January. If he has a good start to the season between August and December, then I can possibly see him going in the January window.
“Is he good enough for Premier League football? I'm torn on that one, to be honest. I think he's got the attributes and the abilities to.

Sky Sports pundit David Prutton believes that Bristol City can sustain a promotion push under Liam Manning in 2025/26.
“But, you often find he goes missing in big games for us, so that would be a big worry for me if he was to go to the Premier League. Would he be able to perform at that level, with that level of expectation around him, playing at a big club like Everton?
“On value, I'd probably go anywhere between £15-20m. I'd say that's probably a reasonably fair price and a good price for your top-five Championship central midfielders as well.”

Now at 24, Knight should soon be entering his prime years, but still retains enough youthfulness to warrant a significant transfer fee.
He has had two consistent seasons with City since joining from Derby County in 2023 for a fee of around £2m.
It will not be long until Knight’s value likely starts to drop, to do with age more than his performances, so there would be some sense for the Robins to cash in while they can.
If Tom's ballpark figure of £15m-20m is correct, they could earn up to 10 times their original investment and have had two good years out of the player.
For Knight himself, the motivation to move up into the Premier League is clear. All players want to test themselves at the highest level, and it doesn’t get much higher than the Premier League.

Having taken the armband and putting together two seasons of consistent performances, it feels like Knight may well have hit a ceiling with the Robins; their 6-0 trouncing on aggregate by Sheffield United in the play-offs suggests they are some way off getting there themselves.
For Everton, with the key midfielders like Idrissa Gana Gueye running out of time on their contracts, bringing in a young, promising and talented midfielder like Knight would be a good move.
Therefore, if the offer is right, Knight will surely be set for pastures new this summer.
