Ruben Amorim will need his Manchester United players at their very best against Tottenham in the Europa League final.
After the season Manchester United has had, there won’t be much confidence around the fanbase that the players will be able to step up against Tottenham.
However, everyone wants to believe, and Ruben Amorim has pointed out that United have been better in Europe this season, which is one reason to be positive.
Another reason is ingrained in the history of the club, with Paul Scholes admitting that United would probably win the game in a 15-minute spell, claiming Tottenham’s history of losing big games will play a part.
Ahead of the Europa League final, there will be hope of United’s best players stepping up in a big way. While Bruno Fernandes says he wants Amad Diallo to step up, it is another Red Devils player we expect to make a decisive contribution.

Alejandro Garnacho could repeat FA Cup final script
Last May, United had an FA Cup final against Manchester City to undergo, and against all the odds, Erik ten Hag masterminded a win which saved him his job at the time.
In the game, the scoring was opened by Alejandro Garnacho, with the Argentine exploiting City’s high line with a run in behind for Diogo Dalot’s pass.
Garnacho forced Josko Gvardiol into an error, and he benefited with a goal to put United 1-0 ahead on the day. This could almost be a blueprint on how United can beat Tottenham, with the 20-year-old likely to be key.

It has been far from a perfect season for Garnacho, despite his impressive 11 goals and 12 assists, but he has proven himself to be a big game player, and so must start against Spurs over in Bilbao.
Ruben Amorim must start Alejandro Garnacho to make the most of Tottenham’s high line
On Wednesday, Amorim will be spoilt for choice with Garnacho, Amad, Mason Mount, Kobbie Mainoo, and Bruno Fernandes all options to start in the number 10 positions.
But he has to choose Garnacho to start, with his pace a big threat to Spurs’ defence, which tends to sit very high up the pitch.
Garnacho is one of the quicker forwards United have at the club and would be best suited to offering Amorim the fast break opportunities in behind the Spurs’ back four.
His pace could also help United capitalise on any mistakes in the Tottenham defence, with a high press likely to be led by the Argentine.
Perhaps he will even have an impact similar to the FA Cup final last season and be a game winner for United. Spurs are likely to take the ball for the majority of the game, which could mean United are left resorting to counterattacks.
