Viktor Gyokeres will be allowed to leave Sporting in the summer transfer window with Arsenal and Manchester United keen, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The striker, who has been a sensation for Sporting since joining them in 2023, has helped his club win their second league title in as many years. With the title won, eyes have now turned to the summer. Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, has revealed that Gyokeres will be able to depart in the window. He said:
“Now, they won together (the league) once again, and Sporting will accept the conditions for Viktor Gyokeres’ exit, 65 million Euros package. So, keep an eye on this one in the next days, in the next weeks, because Gyokeres will leave. My information is that the Premier League remains the most likely outcome for sure. Arsenal and Man United (are) amongst the clubs strongly interested in Viktor Gyokeres.”
Man United Want Gyokeres
Red Devils have struggled for goals
Viktor Gyokeres celebrating after scoring for Sporting
It has been a terrible season for Manchester United in the top flight. The club have already confirmed that they will be finishing the campaign with their lowest-ever Premier League finish. The Red Devils could have been in a genuine fight for survival were it not for the already-relegated bottom three, which would have been unthinkable at the start of the season.
Ruben Amorim was appointed early in the season to replace Erik ten Hag and while he’s struggled in the Premier League, the club have been a different side entirely in Europe. The Red Devils could finish the season with silverware if they win the Europa League final and crucially, this would secure Champions League qualification.
Such a prize could be pivotal in the race to sign Gyokeres, who will no doubt want to play Champions League football having done so with Sporting. Both Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund, while players with potential, have struggled for goals this season, which has been to Man United’s detriment.

In Gyokeres, the Red Devils would be signing an established number nine who has a lethal goalscoring record. Not only would it offer respite to both Zirkzee and Hojlund, who could step away from the spotlight if necessary, but in Gyokeres, Man United would be signing one of the most sought-after attackers this summer.
