Newcastle United have a fresh injury problem.
Heading into Sunday’s Premier League game against Arsenal, Sven Botman was an injury doubt.
However, the Dutch defender was fit enough to retain his place in the Newcastle United starting XI.
The same did not go for Alexander Isak, who was not in the squad at all. Before kick-off, the club confirmed that the 25-year-old had a ‘minor groin injury’.

Unfortunately, Wilson was disappointing.
Update on Alexander Isak’s groin injury
Not having Isak at the Emirates Stadium was a blow for Eddie Howe’s side, and the club may have a plan in place for the Swedish striker to return to full fitness.
That is according to the Telegraph’s Luke Edwards, who has stated on X that Isak may undergo surgery during the off-season to fix the groin problem that he has had for ‘some time’.
He wrote on X: “Alexander Isak misses out with a “slight groin injury” Isak has been carrying a groin problem for some time and may need an operation in the summer.”
