Nikola Jokic Sends Blunt Message to Nuggets’ Front Office After Playoff Exit

The 2024-25 season has come to a disappointing end for the Denver Nuggets after their loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 7 on Sunday afternoon.

Denver had a solid start to Sunday’s game as they led by five points at the end of the first quarter. Things would quickly change in the second quarter and throughout the rest of the game as Oklahoma City picked up a dominant 125-93 victory.

With the victory, the Thunder now advance to the Western Conference Finals where they will match up against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

For the Nuggets, their season is now over and they have a crucial offseason ahead of them that could be filled with a ton of change.

Of course, the first order of business for Denver is hiring a new general manager after firing Calvin Booth and they will also need to decide whether to promote David Adelman as their new head coach or look elsewhere to fill Michael Malone’s old position.

While the Nuggets have some key decision to make in the front office, they also have some crucial roster decisions to make and their star center Nikola Jokic sent a message to the front office regarding their roster after Sunday’s loss.

“We didn’t, so obviously we can’t,” Jokic said when asked if the Nuggets can win another championship with how thy are constructed. “If we could, we would win it. I don’t believe in those ifs stuff. We had opportunities. We didn’t win it, so I think we can’t.”

This is a major statement by Jokic and one that the front office should not take lightly in the offseason as they try to build Denver back into a title contender.

Of course, the Nuggets won the championship in 2022 and have most of the players left from that title on their roster.
