Victor Lindelof is probably leaving Man Utd, but he may still start in the Europa League final against Tottenham.
Injury Woes Open Door for Victor Lindelof
Victor Lindelof was considered a backup option this season. But, he is probably going to start in the Europa League final. That is due to injury setbacks at the back. Both Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro are injured. So, the Swede has emerged as a strong candidate to start against Spurs in Bilbao.
De Ligt is still recovering from an ankle injury picked up at the City Ground. Meanwhile, Yoro has been seen working individually at Carrington. This has raised doubts about his availability. Even if either is cleared to play, their lack of match sharpness could push manager Ruben Amorim to rely on Lindelof’s experience. The Swedish defender had started in the 2021 final against Villarreal. He also played in the recent Chelsea clash and looks likely to keep his place.

Lindelof’s Last Dance in Red? Veteran Defender Steps Up Again
Lindelof will finish his five years at the club and leave Man Utd at the end of his contract due to expire June 30. He was going to leave at the end of last summer, but an injury delayed leaving. Since, he’s quietly stepping up into the spotlight.
He is one of the more senior players in the team, second to Luke Shaw. It is not often that you see a player start a European final, and weeks later, leave as a free agent.
He’s in a unique situation at the time. But, he does want to play for a club after all. Should he start, it would be a full-circle moment. It will offer him a final chance to shine on a big stage before bidding farewell to Old Trafford.
