Newcastle United want to hand midfield sensation Sandro Tonali a new contract ahead of the transfer window, according to TBR Football.
The 2024/25 season will forever be remembered by Newcastle fans, who finally saw their team lift a major honour when they won the Carabao Cup, ending a 70-year drought without any English silverware. This memory has only been made sweeter by the fact that, domestically, Newcastle have been one of the best teams in the Premier League.
If the Magpies win their final game of the Premier League campaign, then they will have secured Champions League football for the second time in three seasons, a testament to the stellar work Eddie Howe has done with the club as manager.
Unsurprisingly, the Magpies already have an eye on the upcoming summer transfer window. Newcastle are already looking at potential deals that they can negotiate, but it would now seem that the club are also keen to secure the services of a player already within their team.

Sandro Tonali
Many Newcastle fans were excited by the arrival of Sandro Tonali in 2023, given what he had done with previous club AC Milan. In becoming the most expensive Italian player of all time, few could have foreseen that Tonali, in October 2023, would receive a 10-month ban for breaching betting regulations during his time in Italy.
In August 2024, Tonali returned to the fold for Newcastle, who displayed shaky form to open the season. Soon after Tonali was moved to be the midfield number six, however, the Magpies started to soar, looking much better as a team. Due to his form, Tonali has been dubbed "phenomenal" on social media.

Tonali’s form has, rather understandably, attracted the interest of other clubs. As per TBR Football, Inter Milan and Juventus would be keen to bring Tonali back to Italy and as such, Newcastle want to tie him down to a new contract and are “ready to reward” the player should he sign.
Retaining Tonali’s services for the long-term would be an exceptional accomplishment for Newcastle. Alongside Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton, Tonali makes up one of the best midfields in the top flight and has proven crucial to Newcastle’s trophy win and push for the Champions League.
