Fabrizio Romano: Liverpool in advanced talks to sign ‘world-class’ star after Frimpong, he…

Liverpool are now advancing in talks to sign Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed.

The Reds are already making a mark ahead of the summer transfer window, despite winning the Premier League with ease this season. Liverpool aren't looking to slow down and rest on what they've built, with Jeremie Frimpong on his way to Anfield to complete a move.

Frimpong looks set to be Arne Slot's first signing of the upcoming transfer window, and he's set to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold who will depart at the end of his contract. Although Liverpool were impressive in the Premier League, they will be keen to add more to their squad after falling short in other competitions.

Milos Kerkez in action for Bournemouth

Reporting on X, Romano has confirmed that Liverpool are closing in on another signing. Romano has suggested that the Reds have contacted Bournemouth over a move and talks are now advancing, with Liverpool close to completing the agreement on personal terms...

"Understand Liverpool have contacted Bournemouth for Milos Kerkez deal with talks now advancing! Liverpool are also completing the agreement on personal terms with Kerkez, keen on the move. Negotiations underway between clubs on transfer fee."

Kerkez, dubbed "world-class" for his performances, is keen on a move to Anfield, so it could be a straightforward deal for Liverpool to do if they meet Bournemouth's demands.

Andy Robertson is reaching the latter stages of his career, and at the age of 31, Liverpool will be looking to find a long-term replacement for the Scottish international. Kerkez is still only 21 years old, but he's already making a significant impact in the Premier League.

Heading into the 2025/2026 campaign, Liverpool could have a new-look defence, with Kerkez and Frimpong on either side on the back four.
