Everton have been heavily linked with a Richarlison return in the summer transfer window.

The Brazil international notched 53 goals and 13 assists for the Goodison Park outfit in 152 appearances in all competitions.

He was sold to Tottenham in a £60million deal in 2022 to help with Profit and Sustainability regulations, but is still beloved by the Everton faithful.

His time in North London has been miserable and he is constantly posting on social media about the Blues, despite not playing for them anymore.

Richarlison move could work for Everton despite Moyes refusal

David Moyes had ruled out a move for the ex-Toffees star, but iconic commentator Ian Darke believes that a move for the Brazilian could still be sanctioned.

He thinks that Moyes’ public refusal could just be a ploy to drive the price down for the 28-year-old, with agent talk heavily speculated already.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, he said: “I don’t think Richarlison would be a player to target, he has had a lot of injury problems, not scored many goals and not played enough games this season at Tottenham.

“It would be a punt to think he could go back to Everton and be the player that he was in part of his first spell there.

“I would prefer better targets with a better injury record.

“All of these things are speculative, aren’t they, you know, if you have got a target, you don’t really want to broadcast it, do you, it is agent talk, a lot of it.

“Phoning up media guys, getting them to try and get it in the paper, looking to get the prices down or up, whatever it is, it is all a big game.

“Would Tottenham sell, yes.”

Everton supporters would be ecstatic if Richarlison returned

His injury issues are a major concern; he has only featured in 14 Premier League matches for Ange Postecoglou’s side this season.

However, the Goodison outfit could take a chance on their former star as they have had plenty of issues in front of goal this season, with the likes of Beto and Dominic Calvert-Lewin underperforming.

Moyes is desperate for attacking reinforcements, and if the price is right, the Friedkin Group can strike a deal.
