Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield Wednesday are both resting up ahead of a crucial summer. Time will be taken to recharge before pre-season begins for the 2025/26 Championship campaign.
Both will be out to take strides forward with the Owls expected to join Rovers in coming under new management.

Valerien Ismael joined earlier this year but will get his first real chance to make a mark on the squad this summer, while Danny Rohl seems increasingly likely to move on from Hillsborough.
Now, with change afoot at Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield Wednesday, it has been claimed that the Championship pair are interested in Aston Villa prospect Triston Rowe.
Football Insider reports that 18-year-old full-back Rowe is on the radars of Rovers and the Owls as a potential loan target. Enquiries have been made over a possible deal and parent club Villa are ready to send him out to gain first-team experience.
The Premier League side have been impressed with his development and seem ready to loan him straight to a high level despite the fact he is yet to make his senior debut.
More on Rowe
As touched on before, rumoured Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield Wednesday loan target Rowe has not yet made his senior debut. However, the 18-year-old has enjoyed a fine youth career to date, hence the promising beliefs over is future.

Rowe started out in the West Brom academy but joined Villa in 2021 and after making 22 appearances for the U18s, he quickly jumped to the U21s.

Despite his age, Rowe has already played 45 times for the side, chipping in with one goal and three assists while playing as a right-back, wing-back or even centre-back. He has also been a regular for England at U18 and U19 level.
A position to bolster for Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield Wednesday?
It seems likely that both Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield Wednesday are in the market for a new right-back this summer.

Callum Brittain is a star man on the right at Ewood Park but Joe Rankin-Costello appears not to be viewed as an option there by Ismael. As such, Rowe could be a player to consider as cover and competition.
As for Wednesday, Pol Valentin is departing when his contract expires and game time has been increasingly limited for Liam Palmer. Yan Valery has made the place his own for the most part and could also need fresh competition for a place.
