Newcastle United co-owner Jamie Reuben has sent a message to supporters following the disappointing loss to Arsenal.
The Magpies had the chance to effectively wrap up Champions League qualification, but a great goalkeeping performance from David Raya, coupled with a moment of brilliance from Declan Rice, ensured that Eddie Howe’s side must get a good result against Everton on the final day of the season.
Newcastle United were without Alexander Isak for their 1-0 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday. The Swede missed out with a groin issue that has been a problem for him at times this season. Callum Wilson replaced Isak in Newcastle’s starting XI but failed to register a single shot before being taken off for William Osula.
Newcastle fans criticised Anthony Gordon for his performance at the Emirates Stadium. The winger has looked like a shell of himself since returning from suspension and a hip injury.
Additionally, Gordon was furious at Newcastle teammate Harvey Barnes after the fellow winger took a shot rather than passing to him in the second half.
With the Champions League race down to the final game of the season, Newcastle co-owner Jamie Reuben has made one thing clear despite the Magpies’ loss and failure to secure second place in the Premier League table.

Jamie Reuben’s honest verdict of Newcastle United’s loss to Arsenal
Reuben is known to be vocal on social media, replacing Mehrdad Ghodoussi as the Magpies’ online spokesperson following their departure in 2024.
Earlier this season, Reuben thanked Newcastle fans before the Carabao Cup final, saying they were more determined than ever to win a trophy.

After the historic cup win, Reuben praised three Newcastle players, Bruno Guimaraes, Kieran Trippier and Jamaal Lascelles, for their captaincy under the current ownership. The 38-year-old referred to them as ‘titans’.
Now, Reuben has returned to social media to share his view on Sunday’s loss.
The Newcastle co-owner said: “Wasn’t the result we wanted- we deserved more from that game, but I want to personally thank all the @NUFC fans who travelled today and those who have attended our away fixtures this season, often travelling very long and difficult (today) journeys to support our team. Thank you for your support. Jamie.”
Newcastle are still just one win away from securing Champions League football, but there is no doubt Howe’s players will be feeling the pressure ahead of the final day.
Jamie Reuben hints at St James’ Park cameo vs Everton
Reuben attended the recent Carabao Cup final at Wembley alongside chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan and former co-owners Amanda Staveley and Ghodoussi.
While there is no confirmation on whether he will be in attendance, Reuben has hinted that he may be at the ground for Newcastle’s final game of the season against Everton at St James’ Park.
A Newcastle page asked Reuben to grant them two free pints of beer and requested that he sit in the Gallowgate End for the game. Reuben responded by saying it was an ‘interesting idea’.
Everton played their last ever game at Goodison Park on Sunday, an emotional and energy-sapping 2-0 win against Southampton.
The Toffees have nothing to play for, so it could be a routine win for Newcastle. However, the pressure of the occasion could still affect Howe’s side, who are desperate to secure a return to the Champions League.
