So with that said, here we go with the latest speculation.

According to the report, Kerkez is unsurprisingly quite keen to join the newly crowned Premier League champions and talks are now ongoing to secure both personal terms and agree a transfer fee between the two clubs.

Richard Hughes, the former head of recruitment at AFC Bournemouth, was previously involved in the signing of Kerkez with the Cherries, so is likely to be using his knowledge on that deal to get this one wrapped up quickly in his new role at Liverpool.

Kerkez’s likely departure won’t come as a surprise to many. Kerkez hasn’t been shy on social media regarding previous interest from Chelsea and, more recently, from Liverpool.

The 21-year-old joined the Cherries from AZ Alkmaar for a fee reportedly in the region of £ 14 million, plus a potential £1.5 million in add-ons. He has gone on to make 64 Premier League appearances since his 2023 summer move.

I don’t think we can act all surprised that Kerkez was using us as a stepping stone. It was clear from his history before he joined – we were his fifth club and he was 19 or something. No point getting upset about it.

The good thing is he actually delivered on his confident style and wasn’t just big talk. I think initially he was a little surprised at the physicality of the PL but once he had that season of adjustment, he’s been superb.

If we get a good fee, then that’s the system is working as it was planned. – To join the conversation, please click here.
