It was an emotional day at Goodison Park as the curtains drew to a close on Everton’s 133-year tenure at The Grand Old Lady.
David Moyes and co put on a fine showing as Illiman Ndiaye scored a brace in Goodison’s finale.
Emotions were high, and it seemed like there wasn’t a dry eye in the house as even Southampton fans were astonished by the atmosphere.
Knowing Everton’s fanbase, this comes as no surprise with Goodison getting the perfect send-off.
It’s already been revealed that Everton women will play at Goodison, but some more exciting news has come to the surface.

Fresh Goodison Park plans disclosed by Everton insider
With the iconic stadium bowing out in style, it was clear that this won’t be swept under the carpet easily and will no doubt take time to adjust to life by the Bramley-Moore Dock.
There has already been controversy surrounding their new ground as Everton landed a naming rights deal which sees the Hill Dickinson Stadium take the spotlight.
An interesting name to say the least but Everton fans have defended the name, but whatever changes are made, it will take some time to replicate Goodison.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
Well, with plans already set in place for The Grand Old Lady, more news has come out surrounding what is next for Goodison.
Speaking to beIN Sports during the coverage of the Toffees’ win vs Southampton, commentating legend Martin Tyler revealed that he got some inside knowledge of some more plans in place.
“I was talking to a media officer here, and he said they want to create a museum here for special tours, which will also be available for the new generations to visit,” Tyler said.

Everton fans will love that Goodison’s legacy continues after finale
The day was filled with celebration and sadness, and it seemed like nothing topped the incredible rendition of the famous Everton tune in ‘Z-Cars’ after the full-time whistle.
To see so many iconic faces appear was a joy as well, with Duncan Ferguson and Wayne Rooney taking centre-stage with other former Everton players bidding their goodbyes.
Now to see a museum being created is a brilliant idea from The Friedkin Group who look set to begin a new chapter for the Toffees.
A new era will begin for the women’s team, which is great to see, but Moyes, the fanbase, and the men’s side had the perfect farewell, and a museum seems like the perfect move.
