‘Matter of days’ – Club readying response to Manchester City’s first offer, increasing risk of auction in race

Manchester City’s interest in AC Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders has been a major talking point in Italy over the past week.

That isn’t a surprise, considering the Dutchman’s impressive performances this season. He’s scored ten times in Serie A, racking up five assists in addition.

Losing him will come as a major blow to Milan and Corriere dello Sport today, as relayed by MilanNews, have taken a look at that possibility.

They state that it is ‘a matter of days’ before Manchester City make their initial offer for Reijnders and they are likely to put forward a fee of just over €55m for the Netherlands international.

This will not be enough for Milan, who are readying their response as they want over €70m for the midfielder.

In the meantime, Real Madrid have also asked for information for Reijnders and they have now started to show interest in the former AZ Alkmaar star.

This comes as a threat to Manchester City as an auction can be unleashed for the 26-year-old and it can become difficult for Pep Guardiola’s side to land him.
