Amorim is a big admirer of Cunha and it seems he could soon welcome the Brazilian forward into his squad.
That is because Fabrizio Romano has revealed that United have held fresh talks with Matheus Cunha’s team and presented a contract proposal to the 26-year-old star.

He explained that all parties are ironing out the “final details” of the deal before Romano can drop his iconic “here we go” line to announce the deal.
Extra details provided by GiveMeSport reveal that United made their fresh contract proposal in the last 48 hours. Cunha has agreed personal terms and the final detail that needs discussing is the payment structure for his £62.5m release clause – something that is not seen as a concrete issue.
Cunha’s expected wages at United are more than reasonable and adhere to the wage structure that Ineos have been working hard to build.
Matheus Cunha deal not affected by Europa League final
Ahead of the summer window, Amorim warned that United do not want to sign players who are only interested in playing in the Champions League.
Amorim sent a stern warning to Viktor Gyokeres amid reports that he would only join United if they won Wednesday’s Europa League final.
The good news about the Cunha deal is that it is set to go ahead regardless of Wednesday’s result. Cunha is said to be excited by the long-term project at United rather than the pull of playing in Europe.
