Manchester United legend and multi-Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo could be set to play in the upcoming Club World Cup despite Al-Nassr not qualifying for the inaugural tournament.

Ronaldo has had a rough time since joining the Saudi side, failing to lift a club trophy in the two years he’s been with the club.

The Portugal international has still lifted the Saudi Pro League Golden Boot for the 2023/24 season as well as being named Player of the Year for the club, but that’s all while in the yellow of Al-Nassr.

Now, the record-breaking attacker could be set for a move, with Ronaldo growing visibly frustrated with the lack of success with the Saudi side.

Following Al-Nassr’s recent 3-2 loss to Al-Ittihad, Ronaldo was so devastated to have lost, and seemingly helped Al-Ittihad to lift the league title, that he departed the field without going through the dressing room.

Despite players like Sadio Mane and Jhon Duran joining the club, Al-Nassr are still unable to lift any silverware.

Now, Marca has reported that Ronaldo’s entourage have been approached with a considerable offer to leave Al-Nassr and compete in the Club World Cup next month.

Cristiano Ronaldo approached by Brazilian club

It’s understood that the offer has come from a Brazilian side who are keen to have the Ballon d’Or winner in their ranks when they compete against the world’s best clubs.

Whilst it’s unknown which side has made the approach, only four Brazilian sides have qualified, narrowing down the potential suitors for Ronaldo.

With Palmeiras, Flamengo, Fluminense and Botafogo all qualified as part of the six CONMEBOL sides in the tournament, it has to be one of the four who have contacted Ronaldo’s team.

Details surrounding the offer are still unknown, as are Ronaldo’s thoughts on a potential move, however with the tournament quickly approaching, any move would need to be done soon to secure his participation in the competition.
