Marcus Rashford is prepared to move on loan again this summer if Man United cannot agree a permanent deal, according to their former chief scout.

Mick Brown, who worked at Old Trafford for over a decade during the club’s most successful period and remains very well-connected there, exclusively told Football Insider that United are struggling to find permanent suitors for the 27-year-old.

The forward’s wages and transfer fee have made a deal difficult for “the majority of clubs”, and mean another loan move may be his only option.

This comes after Brown told Football Insider on 12 May that Rashford wants to join Barcelona, while Aston Villa are set to let him leave at the end of his loan spell.

Since leaving United in the mid-season transfer window, the England international has scored four goals and provided six assists in ten stars across all competitons.

As a result, there is no shortage of interest in him, with the likes of Tottenham also linked with a move, but his wages are proving prohibitive.

Man United make Marcus Rashford exit decision

Football Insider revealed Villa face paying £130million over five years in wages and transfer fee if they sign Rashford at his current £350,000-a-week salary.

Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment and also worked for the likes of Tottenham, Aston Villa and West Ham, has insisted the forward has no future at Man United but will struggle to find permanent suitors.

“*It’s going to be difficult for Man United to move him on,*” he told Football Insider.

“Ideally, United want to raise money from his sale, but they’ve handled it badly.

“He’s not going to come back, so he has to be moved on, whether that’s permanently or on loan.

“There are only three or four teams who could realistically make a move for him.

“But even those teams, there are questions about whether they can afford him and whether he would take a pay cut to make the move.

“The same thing happened in January and he ended up moving to Villa on loan.

*“That’s going to be a possibility again this time around, because most clubs cant afford what it would take to do a permanent deal.*“

Bruno Fernandes update emerges amid Saudi Pro League interest

Rashford is not the only player who has been linked with a permanent move away from Old Trafford this summer amid speculation surrounding Bruno Fernandes.

However, Brown told Football Insider on 16 May that United are not prepared to let Fernandes leave given his importance to Ruben Amorim’s side.

Concerns about the club’s financial position had led to suggestions that they may need to sell key players, but the Portugal international is not on the list of potential exits.

This comes after Football Insider revealed Fernandes is not for sale at Man United regardless of whether they are playing in the Champions League next season.
