Having endured a dire campaign in the Premier League this season, Manchester United are prioritising strengthening the attacking department this summer.

In 37 games, they have netted only 42 goals, and their goal difference is -12. Therefore, it is justified that they are willing to revamp this area.

Signing a new striker to replace struggling Rasmus Hojlund is said to be on Ruben Amorim’s agenda. Moreover, the Portuguese boss wants a couple of No.10s for his 3-4-2-1 formation.

The Red Devils have already been working on a deal to sign Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Additionally, they want Brentford ace Bryan Mbeumo.

It has previously been reported that Amorim’s side are preparing to submit an initial offer to lure the Cameroonian, with the Bees demanding around £60m-£65m to let him leave.

Now, Spanish source, Fichajes, claim that Man Utd have submitted an offer of around £55m[€65m] to get the deal done, but their bid is just short of the West London club’s valuation.

So, it remains to be seen whether they accept it with the player’s existing deal set to run until 2026, plus there is an option to extend his contract for a year further.

The 25-year-old has been one of the most inform attackers in the Premier League this season, scoring 19 goals and registering seven assists. He even netted against Fulham last weekend, although he missed a penalty.

The Brentford star usually plays as a right-winger at Gtech Community Stadium but is also comfortable in the second striker role.

So, he might be an excellent option for Amorim’s right side of the No.10 position. If United hire both Cunha and Mbeumo, that would definitely elevate their attack. What do you think?
