This weekend saw Manchester City and Crystal Palace face off in the FA Cup final. Leeds were surely watching the game with some interest after being linked with Manchester City’s stars in recent weeks. City boss Pep Guardiola made a bold move for the final, dropping James McAtee from the squad to hand teenage south American star Claudio Echeverri his debut. The news shocked the club’s fans, after McAtee played a big role in the team over the past few weeks.
His absence from the squad has sparked news that he will leave the club this summer, handing Leeds United a huge boost. According to reports, the midfielder will be available for around £35million. McAtee has caught the eye of a lot of teams across Europe, and will be in demand when the season ends.
James McAtee should choose Leeds
The young midfielder has the perfect opportunity to make his mark if he chooses Elland Road. He will undoubtedly be the best player at the club if he decides to join. His time on loan at Sheffield United showed he is going to be great – 12 goals and six assists in two seasons is a good sign.
With limited minutes this season, he has still managed to be productive for Pep Guardiola’s side. Leeds cannot afford to pass on that kind of talent this summer.
