Ange Postecoglou is set for the biggest game of his career when Tottenham take on Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League final.
If Postecoglou guides Tottenham to Europa League success, the Australian would etch his name in the history books in North London, and all of Spurs’ domestic woes this season would be forgiven.
Tottenhamare slim favourites to win, but Postecoglou must navigate injuries to key midfielders Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, and Lucas Bergvall.
Several first-choice members of the squad were rested in Spurs’ 2-0 Premier League loss to Aston Villa at Villa Park on Friday (16 May), with eight players expected to return to the starting lineup for the final.

The centre-back pairing of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven will no doubt return, with Ben Davies and Kevin Danso making way, despite the latter making three important blocks and six clearances against Unai Emery’s side.
Djed Spence didn’t do enough to stake his claim ahead of Destiny Udogie, whereas Pedro Porro is arguably Spurs’ most creative player, with both fullbacks likely to start.

Tottenham and United need to win the final to qualify for the UEFA Champions League
Postecoglou’s selection in midfield carries the most intrigue. Rodrigo Bentancur should keep his place, with Archie Gray making way after winning just one of his three ground duels in the West Midlands.
Meanwhile, Yves Bissouma’s resurgence means he will likely line up alongside Bentancur, while Wilson Odobert could keep his place as the attacking midfielder ahead of Pape Matar Sarr, who struggled to influence the game against Emery’s side on Friday, only completing ten passes.

Son to start Europa League final
Son’s timely return to fitness will see him lead the team out in Bilbao, with the South Korean international deemed an important asset, both physically and mentally.
His goal-scoring prowess and ability to create should see the forward line up ahead of Mathys Tel, who will likely drop out after only completing 20 per cent of his dribbles against Villa.
Postecoglou’s faith in Brennan Johnson has been unwavering, irrespective of performances, which will likely see the former Forest player replace the young Mikey Moore on the other flank.
Richarlison’s influence since returning to full fitness has been growing, but despite winning 100 per cent of his aerial duels off the bench against Villa, he is unlikely to start ahead of Dominic Solanke, who has led the line impressively since he arrived from Bournemouth last summer.
