Insider's Latest Giannis Antetokounmpo, Warriors Connection Turns Heads

Heading into the NBA offseason, Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo will be one of the biggest storylines to follow. He has been connected in a lot of trade rumors already, with the Golden State Warriors being one of the most popular potential destinations.

After ESPN insider Shams Charania's report about Antetokounmpo being "open-minded" to a trade, the noise has grown louder surrounding his future with the Bucks.

Over the last couple of years, the Warriors have been connected to Antetokounmpo on multiple occasions. Nothing series has ever come from the rumors, but that could change this time around.

During the latest episode of "Real One's," the trio of Logan Murdock, Howard Beck, and Sam Amick talked about Antetokounmpo and Golden State. It was revealed that the superstar has had interest in playing alongside Stephen Curry on the Warriors.

"There was a feeling that Giannis was very, very intrigued by the idea of one day being a teammate of Steph Curry's. There was at least a feeling that Giannis wanted to play with Steph and be teammates with him," Murdock said.

That doesn't mean that a deal is expected to happen, but the interest could very well be there on both sides.

Throughout the course of the 2024-25 NBA season, Antetokounmpo played in 67 games. He averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game. Antetokounmpo also shot 60.1% from the floor.

Adding that kind of offensive firepower alongside Curry would make for a lethal duo.

Antetokounmpo is set for an extremely important meeting with Milwaukee next week, according to a report from NBA insider Chris Haynes.

"Bucks make contact with Giannis Antetokounmpo and now very crucial meeting is scheduled for next week, sources tell me," he wrote on X.
