Tottenham teenager Ellis Lehane has signed a professional deal at the club after rejecting Aston Villa and Brentford offers, sources have told Football Insider.

The forward, 18, has pledged his future to Spurs as he is aiming to break into the first-team fold in the near future.

Ellis had firm interest from Aston Villa, Brentford, Norwich as well as offers from Italian trio Lecce, Verona and Cagliari.

Lehane has netted 13 goals in 21 Under-18 Premier League matches this season and has started to be integrated into the Under-21 team in north London.

Lehane stays at Tottenham

Lehane signed a two-year scholarship deal with Tottenham back in 2023, and continued working his way through the North London side’s academy.

The forward hopes to follow the likes of Harry Kane, and more recently Mikey Moore, who went through the youth system at the club and eventually became first-team regulars.

Kane recently won the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich, after a ten-year stint at Spurs where he failed to pick up any major silverware.

Brentford have a reputation for sniffing out youth prospects, and selling them for a profit, but on this occasion, the Bees were unable to seal the signing.

Tottenham have one final game left of their Premier League season, as they host Brighton, but before that they travel to Bilbao to face Manchester United in the Europa League final.

Tottenham set to miss out on David

In other news, Football Insider exclusively revealed on Saturday (17 May) that Tottenham are set to be beaten to Jonathan David’s signature by Napoli.

The Canadian international, who plays for French club Lille, has scored 16 goals in Ligue 1 this season, as well as picking up six assists.

David is out of contract this summer, and Spurs were interested in picking up the forward, but it looks likely that they will miss out on their man.

West Ham and Newcastle United had also been credited with an interest in the play.

Napoli go into the final day of the Serie A season one point ahead of Inter Milan at the top of the table, needing a win against Cagliari to secure the title.

Should the sides end the campaign level on points the two teams could be set for a dramatic play-off to decide who would win the Serie A title.
