Manchester City are focused on a deal to sign Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest with Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz deemed ‘too expensive’.
City held talks with Wirtz’s representatives last week to discuss a potential move to the Premier League. Liverpool and Bayern Munich have also held discussions with Wirtz’s camp in a competitive race for his signature.
🚨🔵 Manchester City have currently left the negotiations for Florian Wirtz.
Talks were never advanced or at final stages, just initial approaches but City believe full package is too expensive, as @SamiMokbel_BBC reports.

Bayer Leverkusen value the 22-year-old at €150m (£126m) and Manchester City are understood to deem the overall package too expensive. Coupled with the player’s contract and a club-record fee, the estimated cost is around €300m (£252m).
Multiple reports have revealed that talks were ‘never advanced’ but the Citizens have withdrawn from talks after their initial approach.
Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White remains a player of interest to Manchester City, while the Blues are also chasing AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders in an interdependent deal.
City want to overhaul a midfield that will lose Kevin De Bruyne this summer and has struggled in the absence of the injured Rodri.
