Report: Liverpool now want to sign 'one of the best 10s in the world' instead of Wirtz

Liverpool are reportedly eyeing Xavi Simons as a potential Florian Wirtz alternative after speaking to his compatriot Ryan Gravenberch about the RB Leipzig attacker.

Graeme Bailey reports that the Reds have an interest in Simons and have spoken to several key figures regarding the versatile forward. Simons caught the eye during the European Championships last summer, and there's an argument to be made that he was the second-best youngster behind Lamine Yamal. He gave England a fright in the semi-finals with an excellent finish and has replicated such form at Leipzig this season.
