WIRRAL musician Bill Ryder-Jones took to the stage at Goodison Park to perform at Everton Football Club’s farewell ceremony.

On Sunday (May 18) Everton brought to an end of a 133-year-old era as the men’s senior team played their last-ever game at Goodison Park where they scored a 2-0 win over Southhampton

It was a day both poignant and celebratory for Evertonians, who showed their love for the Grand Old Lady with stunning scenes in and around the stadium before, during, and after the match.

After the final whistle, Evertonians Tony Bellew and Gethin Jones hosted an “Operation Farewell Goodison” ceremony for fans, which saw current and former players and club legends pay tribute to the club as well as live music performances.

West Kirby’s Bill Ryder-Jones, a lifelong Everton fan and co-founder of The Coral, opened his set with a performance of Spirit of the Blues in which fans could be seen singing and dancing along.

He ended his set list with an emotional version of In My Life by The Beatles.
