The Houston Rockets will have the 10th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft from the Phoenix Suns. There is a great chance that the Milwaukee Bucks potentially acquire that pick in a trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo.

If Houston keeps that selection, they will continue to add talent to its already talented young core they have on the roster. Having a lottery pick is already a bonus after finishing with a 52-30 record and being the number two seed in the Western Conference before losing to the Golden State Warriors in seven games in the first-round of the NBA playoffs. Who will Houston or maybe Milwaukee draft with the 10th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft?
Bleacher Report Has the Houston Rockets Selecting Asa Newell 10th Overall But Can Trade Pick To the Milwaukee Bucks

Jonathan Wasserman of Bleacher Report has the Rockets 10th overall selecting forward/center Asa Newell from the Georgia Bulldogs. Wasserman said,
“The draft process creates a chance for Asa Newell to sell more scouts on his shooting. It’s an obvious swing skill for upside, given what a regular three-ball can do for a 6’11” finishing weapon with excellent paint touch and encouraging defensive feet.
Newell’s 29.2 three-point percentage wasn’t overly convincing, but he did convert 41.5 percent of his threes at Montverde last year, while his 26 made threes at Georgia reflect clear shooting capability/potential.
Team Fit: If Newell’s shooting perks up, he could complement Alperen Sengun well as a floor-spacing, switchable big off the bench. Houston also seems likely to shop this pick.”
If the Rockets very well indeed shop this selection to the Bucks for Antetokounmpo, Newell could be a very interesting prospect for the Bucks. Newell is 6’11 and weighs 220 lbs. During his freshman season with Georgia, he played in 33 games. Newell averaged 15.4 PPG, 6.9 RPG, 0.9 APG, 1.0 BPG, and 1.0 SPG, along with shooting 54.3% from the field.
He is only 19 years old, and some his NBA comparisons are Jalen Smith, Brandon Clarke, and David Lee. If Milwaukee were to get into the Top 10 of the 2025 NBA Draft, Newell would be an interesting selection for the Bucks. They would no doubt be getting younger in the front court if they acquired Houston’s pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. Newell will have a lot of upsides to his game and this would be one of the swings that Milwaukee could potentially take a chance on with Antetokounmpo potentially traded this NBA offseason.
