Everton played their final ever game at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon and marked the historic day with a 2-0 win over Southampton.
Iliman Ndiaye scored a first-half brace and referee Michael Oliver even let him take home the matchball, which was a nice gesture.
Everton fans were really impressed by Beto’s performance, as he was a thorn in Southampton’s defence all game.
The full-time whistle brought many tears around the ground and the post-match scenes produced some special moments, as former players entered onto the pitch to speak to the crowd.
Former manager Marco Silva has now spoken out about his love for Goodison Park in a video message released on Everton’s YouTube channel.

Marco Silva shares his favourite memory at Everton’s Goodison Park
Speaking to Everton’s club media, Fulham manager Marco Silva revealed his favourite memory at Goodison Park was either his first game in charge against Southampton or the infamous 4-0 thumping they gave Manchester United in April 2019.
“It’s an emotional moment,” Silva explained. “My first memory comes from my first game, because it was an honour to be part of that football club and we won that game.
“And the other one was a victory against Man United in an early kick-off. 4-0 and the stadium was completely bouncing and they help the team to win the game.”

The Toffees completely outclassed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side that afternoon, with Richarlison, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Lucas Digne and Theo Walcott on the scoresheet.
Solskjaer had to apologise for the performance
Speaking post-match, Solskjaer had to apologise to the travelling Manchester United supporters for the embarrassing performance.
“We were beaten on all aspects today,” the United boss accepted. “The only place we beat Everton – I can’t say we beat them – but we had a fantastic support and I just want to apologise for the performance we turned out.
“We have been fantastic for long periods and it’s a tough league to get into the top four, never mind winning the league. There are six teams there and Everton want to be in there.”
Silva’s side made it four clean sheets in the last seven and appeared to be building something but he was later sacked that year.
Since then, Silva has been linked with a number of top jobs after impressing with Fulham, taking them from the Championship to become an established Premier League club fighting for Europe.
Some Everton fans have even wanted Silva back in recent months.
