Everton have identified Lazio striker Valentin Castellanos as a target for the summer transfer window, according to a report from CaughtOffside.
After securing their safety in the Premier League earlier in the season, attention for the Toffees will now have turned to strengthening their squad ahead of next term. Although Everton finished comfortably away from the drop zone, David Moyes and his team will want to bring in reinforcements so they can go to the next level.
The Merseyside club are set to lose a host of players in the summer with their contracts expiring. Ashley Young, Asmir Begovic, and Joao Virginia are already confirmed to be leaving, while Idrissa Gueye, Abdoulaye Doucoure, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are also among those out of contract.

Castellanos has enjoyed an impressive campaign for Lazio, and he's scored goals wherever he's been since moving to Europe. Against Real Madrid while playing for Girona, Castellanos struck four times, becoming the first player to score that many in one game against the Spanish giants since 1947.
It's no surprise that Everton are in the market for a centre-forward as we edge closer to the summer transfer window. As previously mentioned, Calvert-Lewin is out of contract and yet to sign an extension on his current deal. Armando Broja is another option for Moyes in attack, but he was only brought in on loan.
That leaves Everton with Beto and Youssef Chermiti. Although the former has shown signs of improvement this season, he's still been inconsistent, while the latter is a young product still learning his trade in England.
