Report: West Ham make move to sign £93,000-a-week striker, he can leave his club

West Ham United could look to land Roma star, and AC Milan loanee, Tammy Abraham in the coming weeks - with reports from Italy suggesting that the Irons have 'come forward' for the former Chelsea star to act as the spearhead in their attack.

Graham Potter hasn't had the best resources available to him in recent weeks with the club faltering in the Premier League - and that could see him plump for Abraham whilst his stock is low, in order to bolster his attacking ranks for next season as he aims to finish in the top half.

Abraham joined the Rossoneri at the start of the campaign, having been dogged by injuries with Roma last year, but he's failed to make an impression in Serie A with just three goals in 28 league games for the club. That has been somewhat improved upon in the cup competitions, scoring seven goals in 15 games across the Coppa Italia, Champions League and Suppercoppa - but the club won't extend his deal at the San Siro, and he'll return to the capital.

With that in mind, he won't be staying at the Stadio Olimpico on his £93,000-per-week contract, and the report states that West Ham have 'come forward' for his services. Abraham is thought to happily return to the Premier League after a four-year absence, even though he would want a move to a 'top-tier' club - and although West Ham have had a poor season all things considered, Abraham would still ponder a move to the London Stadium.

Niclas Fullkrug's injury-hit campaign has only seen the German score three goals in 18 appearances for the Hammers; and with Michail Antonio having been out for the campaign since Christmas, Danny Ings set to leave the club at the end of his contract and Evan Ferguson hardly pulling up any trees since his arrival from Brighton on loan, Abraham could be the man to come into the fold and change their fortunes.
