George Karl Calls Out Nuggets To Reconstruct The Roster

It is the end of the road for the Denver Nuggets in 2024-25.

Their season concluded on Sunday when they were easily taken down by the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 7 of the Western Conference semifinals.

In some ways, it was a disappointing end, and in some ways, it was an impressive run after a complicated season.

Some people feel it is time to run it back with the same crew, while others believe the Nuggets need to make changes.

Writing on social media, former Nuggets coach George Karl sent a stark message.

“There needs to be serious discussions coming up for the Nuggets re what went wrong. Once a plan is formed, they need to hire a leader of that plan and reconstruct the roster. I feel sad for Jokic and hope the team can surround him with the greatness he deserves,” Karl wrote on X.

Karl is right when he says the team needs to take a hard look at what went wrong in the playoffs.

That is true for any team that doesn’t make it all the way to the NBA Finals, since that is their singular goal.

But Karl also added that the team needs to hire a new leader.

Is that a shot at interim head coach David Adelman, who took over for Michael Malone just days before the playoffs?

Will the front office listen to Karl and replace Adelman with someone else, or will they give him a full offseason and training camp to take control of the team?

Plus, will they make other changes, including those in the roster?

There are questions about several Nuggets players right now, and there is a chance the lineup could look different next season.

But there is also a chance they don’t make any big adjustments because they believe they have what it takes to win it all, no matter what Karl says.
