Liverpool travel to face Brighton and Hove Albion in their penultimate match of the Premier League season on Monday evening.
The Reds have enjoyed a fine season under Arne Slot, who took over from Jurgen Klopp last summer.
The Dutchman has guided the Merseysiders to the Premier League title in his debut season in England, although he may feel a little disappointed that his side didn’t lift more than one trophy considering the position they found themselves in midway through the campaign.
Regardless, Slot and those in charge of Liverpool’s recruitment are likely to want to bolster his squad this summer.
It appears, however, that the Premier League champions may be forced into selling one of their senior players.
According to TBR Football, Liverpool could cash in on centre-back Ibrahima Konate this summer if they can’t agree a new contract with the player.
Konate, 25, joined the Reds from German side RB Leipzig in 2021 and has since played 130 times for the club across all competitions.

He has played an important role for Slot’s side this season, featuring in 29 of their 26 league games so far, but his current contract is set to expire at the end of next term.
The report claims that those in charge of Liverpool are extremely concerned about the player’s situation and could opt to sell him this summer if an agreement over a new deal can’t be reached.
Liverpool are set to lose Trent Alexander-Arnold as a free agent this summer, and the Premier League champions are reluctant to allow a similar situation to occur in regard to Konate.
Spanish side Real Madrid, French champions Paris Saint-Germain and German giants Bayern Munich are all mentioned as clubs that are interested in the France international.
