Beto has sent an emotional message as one player waved goodbye at Goodison Park after Everton confirmed their departure.

The Toffees played their last competitive fixture at the Grand Old Lady on Sunday (18 May), winning 2-0 against Southampton in the Premier League.

David Moyes’ team will undoubtedly undergo a revamp as they move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium for the upcoming campaign.

One particular star who’s set to leave at the end of the season will arguably be missed by many at the Blues, including Beto.

Beto sends emotional message to Joao Virginia at Everton

It’s been confirmed by the Merseyside outfit that Joao Virginia, Asmir Begovic and Ashley Young will leave Goodison Park once their contracts expire in the coming weeks.

The Portuguese ace will soon end his five-year stint at the Toffees, and Beto has sent him an emotional message.

Virginia’s record at the Toffees this season.

After the final home game of the campaign, the 25-year-old posted a carousel of photos on Instagram (18 May), waving farewell to the Grand Old Lady.

The Guinea-Bissau striker commented on the shot-stopper’s social media post with a teary-eyed emoji and wrote the slang term “Zuka”.

Moyes will demand reinforcements at Hill Dickinson Stadium

Abdoulaye Doucoure’s future at Goodison Park is uncertain, with the Mali international’s current contract expiring at the end of the season.

Idrissa Gueye is another influential midfielder Moyes could be without in the coming weeks, and it remains to be seen whether the Toffees can agree fresh terms with some of their out-of-contract stars.

In the attack, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is also set to become a free agent as things stand, with Armado Broja returning to Chelsea once his loan stint ends.

Everton may also lose Michael Keane for free before the start of next season, leaving The Friedkin Group (TFG) with much planning to do.

Angus Kinnear and the rest of the backroom staff must immediately begin building a squad capable of competing for a European spot in the Premier League.

The Goodison faithful have endured relegation battles for several years and will want to see significant changes in the coming months.

Jordan Pickford’s status as the Blues’ number one shouldn’t be under threat, but Moyes will still need reinforcement in that department after Virginia and Begovic leave.

What the future holds for the 25-year-old Portuguese shot-stopper remains to be seen.
