Tottenham could now be handed a surprise boost ahead of their UEFA Europa League final against Manchester United.
Despite being without key names such as James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski, and with Pape Matar Sarr also a doubt, there may be a glimmer of positive news from Hotspur Way.
One midfielder, who had seemingly been ruled out of the showpiece in Bilbao by Ange Postecoglou, has now been spotted back in training just days before the final.
Bergvall spotted in Tottenham training days before the final
Lucas Bergvall was initially expected to miss the clash after picking up an ankle injury in training ahead of the semi-final against Bodo/Glimt.
He had been wearing a protective boot and wasn’t thought to be in contention for a return until after the Europa League final.
However, the teenager has now reportedly resumed training, with images on social media fuelling speculation among supporters that he could make the trip to Spain.
Speaking to Tottenham News, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham claimed that the 19-year-old was seen taking part in training during a recent supporters’ club visit.
“I’m not 100 per cent sure Bergvall will miss the final,” Wenham said.
“Postecoglou implied that he would still be out for a while.
“But that might be to prevent Manchester United from being aware of which of our players are available and which aren’t.

“There’s somebody I know who I follow on X who happened to be at training last week as part of a supporters’ club invite.
“He told me Bergvall trained, and I take his word on that.”
Although it remains unlikely that Bergvall would start such a high-stakes fixture after just returning from injury, the possibility of him being part of the squad remains alive.
Postecoglou is expected to rely on Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur in midfield.
