Casemiro's career renaissance at Manchester United under Ruben Amorim has earned admiration from the club's hierarchy, including Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
The veteran Brazilian midfielder looked set to be frozen out of Old Trafford after a difficult sophomore season with the Red Devils. This time last year, Jamie Carragher had told him to "leave the football before it leaves him", and he was a glaring absentee from an unlikely 2-1 FA Cup final win over Manchester City in May 2024.
Casemiro's form still didn't improve at the start of Amorim's tenure when he replaced Erik ten Hag in November 2024. The 33-year-old was left on the bench for four consecutive games in December and five in January as a potential winter transfer was continuously mooted. But he remained with the club and has been vital recently.

Steve Bates has exclusively revealed in his Manchester United column for GIVEMESPORT that Ratcliffe is among the club officials impressed with Amorim's work with Casemiro. They see how the Portuguese tactician has worked hard on the training ground to make the most of the club's highest earner.
The most significant sticking point regarding the 75-cap Brazil international's future at Old Trafford has been his purported £350,000 per week wages. INEOS didn't want to pay such a hefty fee for a player who is lacking game time and form, but his comeback has been one of Amorim's successes.
Bates says it "isn't guaranteed that Casemiro will stay the course of his contract", which expires in June 2026 with the option of a further year. He's been with the Red Devils since the summer of 2022, when he arrived from Real Madrid for £70m.
Ratcliffe had named him among the players "inherited" from the previous regime in an interview with Gary Neville earlier this year. His performances have been the perfect response, and he's rediscovered his impressive form from his debut campaign.
