West Ham have one game left in what has been a disastrous campaign in all competitions.
Sitting 15th in the Premier League, Graham Potter replaced Julen Lopetegui midway through the season, but has failed to make any impact at the London Stadium.
Given how ruthless Premier League football can be, the former Chelsea manager is already under severe pressure, with many suggesting he should be sacked.
West Ham and David Sullivan will know that another season fighting near relegation cannot happen.

Luckily for Potter, a source close to the ownership revealed recently that they back him 100 per cent.

Dan Plumley has shared that every club outside of the elite Premier League sides fear one “disaster” season, which ends in relegation, using Leicester as the perfect example.
The football finance expert admits that Potter will be under pressure for as long as West Ham are struggling around the bottom three, as they simply cannot afford to drop down.
“You look at where they’ve been in the last few years, winning the Conference League and playing in Europe and how it’s unravelled since then,” he exclusively told West Ham Zone.
“They’re safe in the Premier League, relatively speaking, but every club outside of that uber-elite are scared to death of that one disaster, and we’ve seen that happen with Leicester.
“There are a lot of others that will be looking over their shoulder, and it’s been okay this year as the bottom three have been so poor in comparison to the rest, but that’s not going to happen every season, and every club has been put on watch.

Graham Potter West Ham record
“West Ham will be an example of a club that you absolutely cannot afford to get relegated, and that will put pressure on the manager, particularly with this record at the moment; it just doesn’t seem to be working at the moment.
“That will only go on for so long in football, and if performances don’t turn around, maybe if it goes into the early part of next season, he must be under some real pressure.”

West Ham need transformation
With the backing of Daniel Kretinsky and Sullivan, the Irons need to spend as much as PSR permits them to, as it clearly isn’t working right now.
Senior big-name players such as Danny Ings and Vladimir Coufal are set to leave the London Stadium, which shows that Potter is ready to make big changes.
If they don’t work, it’s usually the manager who faces the chopping block.
